History of Massachusetts

Without much exaggeration, we can say that the history of the emergence of the state of Massachusetts is the history of the United States.

Before the appearance of Europeans on the Atlantic coast of New England, Native Americans, Massachusetts Indians, Wampanoags, Pennacooks and others lived on the territory of the modern state of Massachusetts.
